SALLY BETH VICK MS. SUPER SENIOR USA 2017-18 WINS NEW TITLE!
SALLY BETH VICK, - ENTERED THE 2017-18 MS. SENIOR UNIVERSE PAGEANT AS MS. SUPER SENIOR USA 2018-19. FROM THIS COMPETITION, SHE CAME OUT WITH A NEW TITLE "MS. SUPER SENIOR UNIVERSE 2018-19
"NEVER TOO LATE!" In November, 2018, at the age of 76, Sally Beth Vick won the title of Ms. Super SenioR Universe 2018-29 at Planet Hollywood Saxe Thetre in Las Vegas. Her first title was Ms. Sr. Jefferson County in 2009. She then won the title of Ms. Senior Alabama 2009 and placed in the top ten of Ms. Senior America in Atlantic City. Sally was honored to bring these titles home to Alabama with the hope that she could encourage and influence women over the age of 60 to step out of their comfort zone and use their talents. She co-wrote an article for the spring 2019 issue of "Pageantry Magazine" entitled "NEVER TOO LATE!" telling others that there is no expiration date on dreams. This Januar, she sang for the crowning of four state queens at Planet Hollywood Casino Biloxi, MS. In February, she sang the National Anthem before 2500 attendees of the Senior Softball World Series Tournament of Champions Awards Banquet in Polk County, Florida, and was special guest at a luncheon for Louisville Sluggers Wounded Warriors Ball Team.
Sally attended the United Nation's International Women's Day in New York on March 8, 2019, and she and was recognized by Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed for bringing energy and excitement to the U.N. Assembly. On April 6th at the Global Beauty Awards in Seattle, Washington (the Academy Awards of the Pageant Industry) she walked the "Red Carpet" as a top 15 Finalist from 500 nominations from all over the world for "Best Titleholder." Sally spent seven years on the boards of Ms. Sr. Alabama and Ms. Sr. USA/Universe encouraging senior women to recognize tht age is just a number and doesn't limit them. Sally gives musical programs at Veterans' homes, nursing homes, assisted living, retirement homes and churches. Her favorite charity is Compassion International, where she and Jimmy her husband of 55 years sponsor a young girl. They enjoy time with their daughter and two grandchildren.
A cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Hueytown High School, Sally retired fter 35 years' service from the U. S. Small Business Administration. She was a Business Opportunity Specialist obtaining government contracts for minority/women owned businesses. She was Alabama Women's Business Opportunity Representative for three years, and received a special award from the Alabama Senior Citizens' Hall of Fame. She was past president of Xi Upsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Service and Social Sorority, President Pleasant Grove Art League and on Pleasant Grove Library Board for 20 years. She received a Commendation from the Alabama State House for her community Service. Its her desire to be a mentor for those senior women who follow after her.

SARA JO BURKS, MS. SENIOR USA 2018 FEATURED ON MAGAZINE COVER
SARA JO BURKS, THE BEAUTIFUL MS. SENIOR ALABAMA 2017, AND MS. SENIOR USA 2018, BECAME THE FIRST SENIOR WOMAN TO BE FEATURED ON THE COVER OF "PAGEANTRY MAGAZINE." Sara Jo was crowned Ms. Sr. Alabama USA 2017 and on June 3 2018, at the Saxe Theatre in Las Vegas she was selected as Ms. Senior USA. Sara Jo was graduated Magna Cum Laude at the age of 50 with a BS in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration with Post Graduate work in Management from Troy University where she was employed for 30 years before retiring in 2019 as Assistant Director of Housing & Residence Life. She also taught as an adjunct insructor at Troy. She was the recipient of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award in 2005 the Virgil Parks McKinley Award in 1999 and was honored as Alumni of the year in 2014 by Lambda Chi Fraternity where she served as House Mother for over 20 years.
Ms. Burks is ative in her church & its sanctuary choir, and has directed the Miss Troy University Pageant, and many other pageants for over 30 years. She has judged pageants throughout Alabama, Georgia & Florida.
Sara Jo shares her personal story with the Boys & Girls Club, College Freshmen and senior citizens groups. During her year as Ms. Senior USA she shared her "GOAL-GET OUT AND LIVE" with seniors and "From Hand-Me-Downs to Evening Gowns" with younger audiences to encourage both groups to not let fear hold them back from working toward their dreams. Sara Jo also shares her beautiful singing voice at local and state events in the state of Alabama and ion a national level in other states.
